Happy What I Ate Wednesday friends, have a great rest of the night!!!

Leaves aren’t the only things falling

You wouldn’t know it by the 80 degree weather we have been having, but it is October.

DSC_0848

And the leaves aren’t the only thing that’s falling this year.

DSC_0855

I went to my 2nd Weight Watchers meeting on Saturday and left feeling on top of the world! I finally found a program that’s going to work, this is something I CAN do the rest of my life. I’m not ON a diet, I’m not starving, I’m eating whatever I want and I feel fanfreakingtastic.

Last Week: 212.8

Current: 208

Loss: –4.8

Total Loss: –4.8

Breakfast:

DSC_0858

  • Trader Joe’s Hot Multigrain Cereal (5P+)
  • Artisana Cashew Butter (5P+)
  • 1 tsp. canola oil (1P+)
  • 1/2 Cup Blueberries (0P+)

DSC_0859

I wish I could say I loved the cashew butter, but I just didn’t. It was too overpowering. I won’t be buying this one.

DSC_0860

But the blueberries, perfection. I bought these at a farmer’s market a few months ago near the campground and I froze a bag full. I’m so glad I did. These were just as good as the day I bought them.

I’m ready for a new week, make today the best it can be!!

WIAW: Lazy Bum Edition

On most days, once we take the kiddies to school, Aiden and I use the morning to run errands, go to the library or park or just somewhere to get out of the house. Every once in awhile, we don’t have anything planned and spend the day being bums. It’s currently 1:45pm, Aiden is down for a nap, I’m chilling on the couch and both of us are showered but still in our pajamas. And we couldn’t be happier about it Smile Some days you just need a lazy bum kind of day. So today, I bring you What I Ate Wednesday: Lazy Bum Edition

Breakfast:

Apple Cinnamon Chia Steel Cut Oats

  • 1/4 cup steel cut oats
  • small apple
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • Cinnamon (can never have too much)
  • Nut Butter (again, never too much)

Mix chia seeds, oats and water. Bring to a boil for 2-3 minutes and then reduce to simmer for about 30 minutes. The last 5 minutes add in your chopped apple.

And then top with the nut butter of your choosing. Today I went with another sample from the box Artisana Foods sent me; Macadamia Nut Butter

Revel in the creamy yet crunchy texture of raw macadamias and cashews as you savor the naturally sweet, wild flavor of Artisana™ Organic Raw Macadamia Butter.

Blend with fresh red peppers to create a creamy Alfredo sauce for your favorite pasta dish or simply slice up your favorite fruit and spread it on. Every spoonful is delightfully delicious. (Taken from the Artisana Foods Website)

While it was an excellent topping for my oats this morning, turning it into an alfredo sauce sounds simply amazing!!

For the love of fall {and nut butter}

DSC_0662

I really wish it was Fall all year long. Not too hot, not too cold.

Perfect weather for

  • Sweatshirts (is there anything better than a hoodie?)
  • Yoga pants
  • Runs outside
  • Long walks outside
  • Apple cider
  • Apples

And the colors this time of year are bright and vibrant! Since we moved into our house in June, I had no idea we had mums planted in the backyard, they have been blooming for the past week or so, and I just love their bright colors!!

Before I get talking about my bowl ‘o oats this morning, I’ll back up to last night’s dinner.

Dinner:

DSC_0667

Chili cheese noodles and green beans. It was ok, but not something I could eat all the time.

DSC_0668

Except for the green beans. They were cooked perfectly! I steamed them with a little bit of salt and garlic salt. Perfect!!

Breakfast:

Ever since I received a package of different nut butters from Artisana to review, I have been dreaming of oats and using all of the different butters as toppings.

DSC_0673

This morning I tried the Raw Almond Butter (Taken from their website)

Experience the delightful texture and clean aroma of our raw, uniquely energizing almond purée.

Artisana™ Organic Raw Almond Butter is a great way to add protein, essential vitamins and minerals to your diet.

Add to fruit, shakes, cereal, sandwiches, confections or eat right out of the jar.

DSC_0675

Normally, I buy almond butter from other stores, but this was SO good! While other almond butters I have tried were dry and slightly lacking in flavor, this was creamy and had the perfect amount of almond flavor…I may have licked the package after I plopped it onto my bowl of oats.

Today’s bowl of oats:

Look how it’s melting into the oats around the edges. Hello, lover.
