After one heck of a hot and sweaty week, we made it! We woke up this morning and it was a chilly 67 degrees outside, yesterday it was 97…it was amazing. The whole time we are going to be camping, it’s going to be in the 70’s during the day and 50’s at night. We had to come in the trailer tonight, because it’s actually cold outside. Hello, little piece of heaven.
We left around 10 this morning and stopped for breakfast/lunch around 11:30 at Bob Evan’s.
I had the border scramble omelette which had cheese inside with chili, tomatoes, and scallions on top…and my favorite hash browns on the side.
After making a couple drink/pee stops for the boys, we made it to the campground in the early afternoon. We never do a lot the first day, just some unpacking and relaxing…today was no exception. We did venture to the beach before dinner because we heard the waves were pretty big earlier in the day. It had died down some by the time we got there, but it was still a lot more intense than we usually see things.
Dinner was a family favorite: baked potatoes with chili and cheese. This whole meal is really easy to make for a large group and always a hit.
And then after showers we had campfire time
…and now it’s bedtime. I’m about to snuggle up with a book and play some candy crush before calling it a night.
