Candy Canes and Snowflakes

We are getting into the Christmas spirit around here! The Christmas trees are up, lights are turned on, Christmas music is playing and lists are being made. We found a bag of hershey’s candy cane kisses yesterday and after trying to come up with something fun to do with them (and something two sick monkeys could help with) I decided on kisses and pretzels.

Chocolate and pretzels. You can’t go wrong πŸ™‚ Before those little beauties went into the oven, we had a late breakfast, egg sandwiches and orange slices with a cup of lemon tea.

After we placed all of the kisses on the pretzels, I put them in the oven for a few minutes until they melted onto the pretzels. The chocolate held it’s form, but it was soft. Perfection!

Lunch was a favorite, chicken/vegetable potstickers and sliced kiwi.

After toddler man was down for a nap, the two oldest wanted to make paper snowflakes.

And then we headed off to nana’s house for the weekly family dinner. (Taco night!) and Karlie and nana went to town on a foam gingerbread house.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!!

  1. Yesterday must have been the day for those pretzels, I read on another blog about the pretzels with plain kisses and an m&m on top! My 3rd grader learned how to make those snowflakes and was so excited he could teach us all how to make them!I found these little treasures at Target, they are perfection wrapped in foil :)Jen

  2. Man, I haven't made gingerbread houses with my daughter since she was little – I loved making those!Even though she's in college, I may have to bring that tradition back!

  3. Your munchkins are SO adorable πŸ™‚ Since I totally didn't decorate at all this year (as we are going out of town) it's fun to see other people's Christmas decor and live vicariously πŸ™‚

  4. Wow Jen! So glad to hear your spirits are lifted. Last night we put up all our Christmas decorations too. I let the girls stay up much past their bedtime because they were having so much fun…and so were the hubs and I! It was the best time. Thanks for sharing the pics. Jennifer
