We left yesterday around 12:30 or so, stopped for lunch and then got on the freeway around 1:45, traffic was crap and although we should have arrived no later than 4, it was almost 6pm before we got to the campground. I was almost as excited as the kids were!! We set up camp and then went on a little Jeep ride around the town, I forgot how fun it is in the heart of Summer around here!!! http://www.thinkdunes.com. We ended up driving to the lighthouse a little before sunset and I took this picture and then went back to the campsite for an early bedtime.
The kids did not go to sleep until after 10 last night, but they were up and ready to go by 8:30 this morning, it was nice to sleep in! For breakfast I had a bowl of Life (hello blast from my childhood!)
And a grapefruit
After breakfast we drove to Wal-Mart to get a few groceries, came home and other campers had arrived 🙂 We had lunch; ham, cheese and pickle sandwich with cherry tomatoes
Then we decided to take the Jeeps out for a little dune riding!
And I’m pretty sure my face looked like this the whole time we were out!!
The kiddies were getting grumpy and tired from sitting in the Jeep, so we headed back to the campground and let them go swimming for awhile.
We went out again after dinner to try and catch the sunset from on top of the dunes, loved it!!!!
Tomorrow we are driving a little farther north for more dunes, but there is no vehicles allowed and the scenery is to die for!!! I’ll be back with another recap tomorrow night 🙂
